Wait, is this True? is a social awareness campaign targeting Gen-Z university students regarding the spread of misinformation on social media. The primary collateral was an A5, 36-page booklet. This was supported by an infographic, posters, and motion graphics formatted for social media. The visual identity of this campaign is simple and on-the-nose to evoke familiarity, using OCR A as the primary typeface, and an RGB colour palette to directly relate to screens and technology.
For the infographic, I took older aesthetics such as gradients and early 20th century computer UI, and combined them with strong lines and vector illustrations to create a juxtaposition between the past and present. As a unique twist I also incorporated a painted illustration style into my booklet, posters, and motion graphics to create a relatable, humorous, and human personality for the campaign. Lastly, my motion graphics focus on short movements and focal colours, while playing with illustrated assets to lead to a call to action. I also experimented with simple sound effects to emphasise certain elements.
